opinions on exhaust please!

I want to leave the cats and cut the exhaust after the stock Y, add a X pipe then run 2 1/4" pipe to the back out the side with no mufflers and most likely a 3" tips. I was just wondering if anyone has a similar setup if it sounds ok? And would it sound better if i done it a little differently such as use 2.5" piping instead or cut exhaust before Y and run true duals? all suggestions appreciated!

isn't the point of an x pipe to equal out left and right bank? why would u leave the stock y in that takes from a dual to a single, double it back out, single it through the x pipe and then dual it out again? or are u singling it out again to a single exhaust tip? im lost..... =>-<==><=== (thats my cheasy exhaust sketch there)
