What modification options are there for an L31 Vortec?

I am new to the truck modification world. I have small experience with the LS1 world (I have a 2002 trans am). Basically what i want to know is what small power can I squeeze out of the 5.7 350 on a budget? I already have a Volant intake, is there anything else out there that I am missing? Thanks!

Basically the same as any other otto cycle engine.
