Will a 4l60e from a 94 suburban 2wd work in my 95 Sierra 2wd? Is there a difference between the plug-ins? Will it bolt up? Will the plugs work? I don't know a whole lot about transmissions.

*BUMP!

I was just reading my new Car Craft last night and they are building a 4L60E to 65E specs. They do mention a change in '95.
Somthing internal (electronic) and you can tell a '95+ by looking at the pump it will have 3 letters and one of them will have a "V" in it. (sorry I forget all 3 letters).

So, the tranny will still bolt right in, but from whay I understand the computer in the vehical has to match the tranny. aka '95 computer and '95 trans.

However, tuning may solve that....i know you have a post in the tuning forum.....I'll bump that up for you again too.

The valvebody in 95 is different. You could switch the valve bodys though. or maybe just the harness. I have a 96-99 60e in mine.

I know the computers are both 7427's in 94 and 95.. not sure if it matters or not.

The difference is in the valve body. In trucks for 1995 they added Pulse Width Modulation to the Torque converter clutch. PWM TCC. Doing this added an additional solenoid to the valve body and a 13th pin to the wiring. Personally speaking PWM TCC is a pain in the rear. PWM TCC also changed the programming in the Memcal. All you have to do is find the same calibration for a 1995 truck that had the same engine, gearing, etc.

so a tranny from a 4.8 or 5.3 has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the old 5.7?

1 hole is moved, and the input shaft is a different length

95 4l60e are a split year. Some are just the same as the 93, but half way through the 95and halfs I call them became a crack monkey. Which means they are a league of their own. They are just like a 96, and will work with a 96, but not correctly, because the pwm sensor has a different ohm resistance than the 96
it will work and not set a code but it won't work correctly. They also added the manual lever position sensor which requires a longer linkage shaft and a placement for the bolts.

Yea thats what I thought.
I have 96 style in mine with PWM not used. Just disconnected and works fine. Because the steering column I am swapping in used the 96-99 cable bracket I think there different. Never looked hard though.(to complete the 97-98 dash swap).
