ok so i installed my shift kit yesterday in my 4l60, the transgo HD2 kit. everything went fine except for i wasnt able to get the band adjust part done, i couldnt get the piece out of the side of the tranny, so didnt install the blue spring in it like it says to. also since i wasnt able to get the part out i couldnt get the number off of the piston inside which tells me whether or not to use the red or white spring in the accumilator, everything else went perfect though. i notice that the 1-2 shift isnt really much more snappier.
ok any help appreciated. also when it does make the 1- shift under heavy throttle it kind slips right when it shifts, rpm blips a little then shifts to 2nd.
ok thanks
oh and i also just did the fast flash tune, the trans setting are set to towing, when i changed the trans settings it did seem to hang a lot longer before it shifts.

F'ed Up Beyond All Recognition...
Take it apart again, get the pieces out, and do it right...

if that is so then why it is still working. basically what i am asking is since i didnt do step 1 and didnt do step 1a but did the rest of the kit, shouldnt everything work fine still
ok so the part i couldnt get out is called the servo. so any tricks to getting it out and shold i buy an upgrade servo and put it in now. also what will the impact be since i didnt change the spring in the accum.
Thanks

No, not necessarily...If you're baking a cake, and you leave out the first two ingredients, do you think you're going to have a tasty cake in the end?...

ok i get that part, the cake part, but i am not seeing how it relates to this situation, what all does the blue spring in the servo do and what changes does the accum spring make

Are you talking about the servo, sometimes you have to remove the snap ring and disaasemble to remove it. you should of at least installed the red spring. the white spring is for the vette servo.

damn, i was thinking red spring too, *&^*&^*&^ soo much work again to get to that part, (*&*& , crap, so how much of a difference will it make by not installing it. checked the fluid today too, seems i was in quite a hurry and forgot to add the last quart of oil. well trans feel fine but i have gave it any WOT runs as i usually dont do that but on in a great while, truck runs soo well with the new came that there is now need to floor it.

you will probably be fine if its working alright. if you want to do it right get the vette servo(use white spring) some valve body gaskets and do it right the next fluid and filter change.

yeah i will, next time i get a hair up my but to tear into the trans. so what is the trick to getting the servo out, will it fit between the tranny and sheetmetal trans tunnel, and how do i get that thick frickin ring out that holds the servo in.
ok thanks for all the help and yes the trans is working fine, i changed the tune for the trans performance and it shifts alot better.

the snap ring will come out it's a bit of a bisch but it will come out.
you need to take a couple of small flat bladed screwdrivers and use one to start prying the ring out.
start at the split in the ring pry out on one side then use the other screwdriver pry a little further down the ring then you should be able to pull the first screwdriver out and the ring should remain partially dislodged you can now use the first screwdriver to pry a little further down the ring past the second screwdriver. once you get enough of it pried out you can just walk one of the screwdrivers around the rest of the ring and it will pop out, the servo itself it a PITA to get out it will take a bit of twisting and pulling but it will come out...
the fun part is getting it all back together again....mmmuhahahah
that's where they get ya!!
I ended up having to get a long bar and wedge it against the exhaust pipe and servo to "press" it back in to palce enough to get the snap ring back on.
also to take the servo apart you will need a big vise or "C" clamp (that's what I had to use) and a big deep well socket.
and dont forget to cut out the oil drains like mentioned in the instructions. i had to take my servo apart twice when I started getting in a hurry to get the kit done....i forgot to cut them out.
