I'm taking Friday off work so I can wake up early and shoot the white part of the two tone on the fenders and hood. I'm gonna remove the wheels and tape that bish up late Thursday night.

My question is if I shoot the white early morning Friday and I'm done painting by say noon, can I tape off the white portion late Sunday night and spray the red early Monday? I usually finish whatever painting I need to do by noon, so far, lol.

Reason for asking is I was gonna knock off Monday if I could finish the whole front end in a 4 day weekend, but I was unsure if the white paint would be cured enough to safely adhere blue tape (so I can 2 tone her) to it in such a short time.

Paint is HRF Classic White and HRF Blood Red btw, if that matters. Single stage urethane.

I'm so ready for that front clip to be 2 toned, I even went ahead and tarped off the garage adn gave it a super cleaning, complete with vacuuming of the concrete floor, lol.

I would say yeah, 2 days should be good, as long as the temp stays around 70. Heck regular base you can tape up and spray 20 min. after you finish spraying the first color, just put them minimum amount of tape on the the white, to minimize any tape striping that might happen,

wait...regular base/clear you can tape after 20 min?

There will literally be one piece of tape on each fender to mask, after teh white is sprayed. The rest of the truck is going to be tarped off and sealed up.

I would wrap the top to be able to take the bulk (not all) of paper/plastic off, after you were done spraying. Spray the bottom and wait 30 minutes or so, and go in and take the plastic off the top, be careful not to touch the sides, but it will keep any solvents from coming to the top and settling beneath the paper.

and Samson, just the base you can tape after 20 minutes(at lieas Diamonts). If you are clearing I would wait a day, and it will be fine.

No worries, I wont be painting this weekend, or any time soon. The trans in the truck went out on me today. :nutkick:

if youve already sealed it prior, dont worry about sealing it again. if you've got as much paint as i think you do on there, i'd at least block down a good bit and then seal and shoot. i'd be scared you will have your paint too thick by time of spraying the white.
