I have a 94 GMC fullsize with a 4.3 v6. I hava a zz383 crate engine and would like to have tpi. I am having problems deciding what tpi and how will the tranny work out electonically with the tpi computer?

You don't have to use the TPI computer. One from a vehicle that has 8 injectors will work. Maybe from a later truck like a L31? I would use the Edelbrock intake manifold and after market runners. The factory TPI plenum is fine and will easily open up to flow more air.

Use your stock PCM, just program it to work with the V8.

Hot restart and idle with my TPI 305 on a TBI PCM.

Does his stock computer have the output(s) to drive 8 injectors? If so that would be the way to go.

since he has the 7427 pcm then it should have no problems controlling 8 injectors, as long as he changes the mode in the tune to do that... well maybe FAST305 chimes back in, as he got his running fairly easy..

i wouldnt want a stock TPI setup on a ZZ383. You will have much difficulty getting the full 425 hp and 460 lb/ft of torque from the flow limited TPI setup. The ZZ383 uses teh 210cc intake port volume Fasrtburn cylinder heads, which love high flowing intakes.

A performance carb intake modified for MPI use would be better.

I have been checking out the edlebrock pro flo efi for the zz383. What do you think. I want the truck to perform to its specs.
With this efi how will the 4l60 e work out electronically. Through the truck's stock computer, or with v8 stock computer.

No need for teh Pro Flow in my opinion. fast305 has a way to use teh stock TBI PCM to drive 8 fuel injectors(he liste dthe link above). Just use any carb intake for Vortecs, and convert it over to an MPI intake.

Here is an intake that woudl work.(bolt in for a 1996-2000 Vortec truck)
http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6271

or any of these intakes will fit teh ZZ383's Vortec intake bolt and port pattern.
If you want a Mercruiser Tunnel ram intake, those are available as well. Not as drop in as the cross ram marine intake is, but will breath better at high rpm.

Lower tunnel ram and fuel rails

Upper plenum and t-body.

Here is another option, theEdelbrock Victor Vortec intake
http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewto...ght=tunnel+ram

here is theHolley Stealth Ram
http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewto...ght=tunnel+ram

And then there is theRamjet intake manifold. This link has a Ramjet 350 intake manifold, twin turbo install and the 411 PCM conversion that uses a 2001-2002 Vortce 350 Van calibration file to run it all and have teh abilirty to rev over the 96-00 blackbox PCMs 5800 rpm hard revlimit.

Pretty much if you have emissions testing esp. visual testing, the marine cross ram intake (this 1 http://www.sfatek.com/images/efi.jpg) is the easiest install and has passed e-testing)
