OK, so my current 700r4 is about to *hit the bed so here's the new one. Anybody use Oregon Performance Tranmission's torque converters? I bought it a long time ago...1800 stall/"Heavy duty". It's probably better than the one I have now (stock). Let me know if you guys see anything weird. THanks,
Mike

well, the truck is going to the shop on wednesday for the new tranny/torque converter. We'll see if that new TC changes things...I hope it does.
I think it should- the torque really starts at about 1700 with this motor, so at least it's better than stock
I don't feel like doing this myself...besides I'm getting a good deal. I hate dropping my truck off and letting someone else wrench on it

So, my Aamco 700R4 made it almost 40K. not bad,I guess...
I'm driving home two days ago from and I lose 3rd gear, 2nd, then I had 1st to make it the last 20 feet up the driveway. I got REALLY LUCKY it didn't die on the highway I just exited...
Spent the last two days changing it myself, which I don't recommend to anyone that only has two jackstands and a floor jack. LOL
I basically had to bench press the f*cker up and rest the back on the crossmember, hold the tranny with one arm and slide the floor jack underneath the pan.
ANyway, I slapped the higher stall TC in and things SEEM to be working right. It's still sucking in fluid and I can hear the trans gurgling which I assume is the air getting cycled out of the system. I've put 12 quarts in, not counting the 1 qt in the TC. I have a deep well pan and the integrated tranny cooler that comes with the towing package. Based on how much came out when I drained it, I think it should be pretty well topped off.
That job sucked
