View Full Version : T-56/ LS1 In A 1500?

just wondering if anybody has seen or heard of ever putting a ls1 and a t56 in a 88-98 1500, just wanted to know if there was a way to hook up all the linkage and everything, just think it would be cool to own a LS1 t-56 truck lol

Yes it is possible.

It would all be pretty custom but nothing that can't or hasn't been done.

ls1tech.com has a whole swap section I'm pretty sure they have a couple ls1 1500's just do a search over there. might even be a write up floating around

umm I'm new here so if I can't say that then mods feel free to take it down

I've never seen an LS1/T56, but I have seen a supercharged LT4/T56 combo. It was in Sport Truck a few years back, and it won the Sport Truck Challenge.

Yes, it can be done. If you have a 5spd c1500 you can swap over a T-56 from the years of 93-96,I believe. The pedals from the truck will work just fine.

lt1 was 93-97 in the fbody 92-96 in the vette
ls1 was 98-02 in the fbody and 97-04 in the vette

lt1 bolt pattern is the same as a sbc which is what gran patron is talking about

I wish I could put a 6 speed in my 4x4 truck!

I have a 6 speed 98 z28 so any general ?'s about the ls1 just ask me

well i got a 92 camaro and i knwo all about sawpping the ls1 and t56 into there, but i just thoguth it would be real badass to have a ls1 in both the maro and my truck, but i have an auto truck and while the idea of a 6 speed in the truck sounds cool it kinda defeatsd the purpose of having a truck since i doubt the gears would do me any good for towing or moving anything around, ill probably just shove the ls1 into the truck and keep the 700r4 (if they can bolt up) if not time to switch to a 4l60E, but does anybody know how in the hell i would run a wiring harness for the ls1 in a 93??

700r4 won't bolt up to a ls1

do you have a ls1 in your 3rd gen or is it just a goal?

I saw you posted on ls1tech I'm pretty sure you can find what you want over there
