Get the servos done now.You have a 4l80e not 4l60e.The 60 is a light duty tranny and the 80 is an hd tranny, completely different. If you don't have the vette servos already I would recommend billet servos.
Vette servos=30% more holding power.
Billet servos=50% more holding power.

Forgot to add that yes the servo can be changed at anytime after install, it's just easier when the trans is out.

This should get you headed in the right direction.Don't forget to upgrade clutch packs and bands to handle the added stress.

The servo is used to apply the band. There is only one band in your trans. It's designed only to hold the drum from rotating. Planetary gearsets have a reaction occur when one device is held and another is driven. That's why you have instant shifts occur, no disconnecting the engine from the transmission and changing gears. They are constantly in mesh. A heavy duty Servo positively applies the band firmer and quicker. This helps with holding power from increased engine power (engine mods) especially since you are still multiplying torque in second gear (intermediate band is for second gear). It also positively releases for a quicker shift. So you will notice a change in the shift quality and while you might like this if you're beefing up your truck you might not like it under normal driving circumstances. Often you'll feel a driveline clunk if you are soft on the throttle for example. So you need to decide if it's a worthwhile upgrade for you. I wouldn't suggest it for a stock daily driver. Anything else go for it. You can buy the kit for under $15 bucks.
