Help With Tuning

[99K2500]

Hey, Im new to this site and to tuning. I am a diesel mechanic and not to familer with tuning with hand held tuners. I have a 99 gmc 2500 with the 350 vortec. I blew her up the other night and i got the new motor on the way. ive done lots of work on older none computer controlled gasoline engines. Im am goin to install a comp 08-500-8 cam. I have an unused fast flash tuner for the truck and i need to know what i have to do when tuning it.
