well recently i came acrossed a 96 K-1500 Z71 off road. bought the truck thinking i was going to lift it and blah blah blah. but i have been into the whole mini truckin thing and recently sold my bagged S-10. well i have been seeing too many lifted chevy's in my style so i figured i want to drop it. did a little bit of research and came up with a 5/7 dropp is what i want and plan to run 18-20 inch wheels (at some point). so the few "?" i have come uup with is.. has anyone dropped a 4x4 that low? the kit i came up with was 3inch torsion keys with 2 inch spindles. then a flip kit with 1 inch shackles? something like that sound correct? with a mini notch? next is i never did an axle flip. and was always under the impression you just reweld the mounts to the bottom? or is there a bolt on kit for this? any and all info will be great.

Where'd you find the spindles for an OBS?

Part Number 2500. its almost at the bottom of the page. it sayd C/K1500 instead of just C. i was ganna give them a call soon just to make sure though. and it offers a 2 or 3 inch drop for us if thats correct:crazy:

a few things i looked at today threw me off. i have the Z71 package and i thought/heard that i had 2 inch lift blocks in the back from the factory? but i dont? also the ubolts look newer for a 96 and there was a 5th wheel in this truck so idk if they dropped the ass or not? but anyways my fender hights were 36 1/2 front 36 rear. lowered the T-bar and got 1 1/2 drop so im at 34 in the front and plaing on pulling the overload leaf to leavel it a lil for the time being. but i have heard of flipping the keys? i thought that would raise the front becuase of how the key was made? any info on this

no one makes a drop spindle for the OBS 4x4 trucks
however, with 3" drop keys and the bolts adjusted low, you can get close to a 5" drop

dropping anymore than 3-4" in front may give you driveline problems. i'm encountering some interesting angles on my 3.5" drop.

What seems to be the problem?
