The website's clip for my truck and others are down, have heard so many mixed revies on this exhaust would like to hear it. I like the design and simple bolt on I can do myself.
Has anybody had issues with carbon on the wheels with the side exit?
The rest of the exhaust will remain stock. Only other thought was fabbing up something with those bullet mufflers. Can you order the right pieces from summit or anywhere to bolt together a kit out the side? (flange, pipe, 90 bends) I don't have a welder.

I have that exact system you are interested in.
After I grinded off the rotted system the previous owner had installed on my truck, the Gibson system went on in 5 minutes. That's it.
As far as carbon build up or anything like that coating the rear wheel or other parts of the truck, it is a non issue. The engines burn so clean that it becomes tough to create enough carbon to coat the truck or the rear wheel. If for some reason carbon does start caating the rear of the truck, you might have some bigger issues under the hood causing that. I find that my square tips have minimal amounts of dark carbon build up in them during oil change intervals and all that dark soot washes out with ease when I remember to splash some water in there when I wash my truck.
I wish I had the technology around the house to be able to create a sound clip for you. Yesterday would have been a great time for me to create a sound clip as I was testing out my new wheel hubs and gave it the seafoam treatment just before changing the oil. Lots of good full rpm range sweeps during all my various truck repairs yesterday that would really help you get a sense of what it sounds like broken in.
This system does break-in and that is important to know because the Gibson website clips are definitely created using a freshly installed system. These sound clips are good, but not a good indicator of what the system will eventually sound like. Once broken in, it reproduces more low frequncy sounds known to most as bass. The general sound of this system is like nothing else out there os it is hard to compare it to other cat-back systems.
I went for this system based on the trusted name, the price, the simplicity of installation, and because everyone else goes with the two pipes out the back look. I wanted something unique and new and I would say that this system fits what I was looking for very well. It doesn't hurt that it sounds different from all the rest as well. I would opt for the stainless steel version if money wasn't an issue.

cool I appreciat the detailed feedback, I'am pretty sure I want this system, Is it loud? Some say it is and some say its quiet. Loud doesn't bother me too much I have a '95 T/A with full exhaust minus the cats. I'm just going to leave the truck at a catback install. I too would like something different than the usual flowmaster. (got the borla on the t/a and it sounds awesome) I am not sure on the finish as I live in NC and we don't know what snow is here heh, but the stainless isn't much more anyway. I read somewhere that the muffler is stainless but the pipe still is aluminized? thanks for your feedback again, I am looking forward to the exhaust in the near future.

yea my truck has some generic flowmaster on it, there isn't even a name on the muffler, its ok, its run out the back, it sounds like a 3 chamber flow, not much louder than stock, looking for a more aggressive sound with some hp/tq.

It sounds like you will be happy with this exhaust system. Loud is a description used a lot about exhausts around here and it sort of comes with a "each his own" type of meaning. We all perceive sound and loudness differently so I can only describe the experience I have had with mine.
At start-up and idle, you will know something is not stock with the exhaust system. As the engine warms up more, the exhaust note begins to deepen a bit and becomes slightly louder. Under normal driving and cruising, you will notice a difference to tne note coming from your exhaust but the rpms will be too low to make any racket and it will never drone out your cab and cause you to have to turn the music up. At full acceleration it becomes a whole new animal, as it really jumps in loudness, and it will sound very similar to your 95 T/A at full boil.
You environment will be less harsh on an aluminized system so you should be fine with that. The muffler part is aluminized and not stainless steel if you opt for the aluminized version.
