Hi Everyone.

I just sold my Tacoma so now I pretty much have my mind set on buying a 97-99 2 door 2wd Tahoe. (Wish me luck on finding a good one for a decent price)

I went and looked at one yesterday and they wanted $6995 for a 97 w/ 103K miles that was fairly clean in and out but it had a miss at idle, a leaking rear main seal, bad wiper module and a buzzing fuel pump. Now keep in mind I have been a mechanic for about 11 years and I know those are all pretty common problems and are pretty easy to fix but I think the initial price is a little high to start with all the problems it has and a buddy of mine knows the owner of the lot and he says he has alot in it so he is pretty firm on the price. So am I crazy to think the price is to high considering the rarity of that model?

did you talk him down on the price? did it have rear barn doors or a hatch lid?

He did not want to go any lower than $6400 for the Tahoe and it had barn doors. I ended up buying a 4Door 98 Tahoe for $4800. I decided it would be too much trouble to have to put my son in the back and have to help him with his carseat seatbelt (he is only 2 y/o) and we have another one due in May so it seemed that the 4D was a better choice.
