I have a 88 full size k1500 with a 350 and 70K miles. The only mods are the ultimate TBI mods and a heated oxy sensor. The tranny has a shift kit and a 2200 stall. I want to put long tube headers and a high flow cat and retain the A.I.R. system, the air pump fittings on the #1 and #2 cylinder header pipes. Any suggestions on what headers to use? I dont want to spend $700 on a set of headers. In the future I may change cams and intakes and get a tune. Will I need a tune for the headers?

No replys? I found some pacesetter long tubes for 3 something. They have 1 5/8 tubes and a 3" collector. I can get them coated and shipped for under $500. Can I get headers without the A.I.R. fittings and weld some in? Where can a person find fittings?

Yes you can get a thing that you can weld on,or you can weld on the original equipment type. When I was building my motor I actually ordered one from JEG'S but they sent the wrong part,so I scrapped the idea. I run regular long tube headers with an o2 sensor on the drivers side only. The truck has no problems passing emissions test. I got rid of the air pump.

If you got rid of the air pump how did you run the drive belt?

I think I am going to go with Pacesetter 72c2261. They are full length and coated. I can get them shipped to me for $365. They have oxy fittings and one AIR fitting on #1 an #2 headpipes just like the factory setup.
