no it wasnt hard at all just really time consuming trying to line it all up to not get any vibration and with my work schedule i only had about 3-4 hours a night to do it but it would be possible to do over a weekend. id post up the pictures but i havent taken any of the completed thing because its too dark and my camera makes them look too blurry and im not going to lie im a lil drunk right now.

and what sucks is the time it took me to get all the parts another reason why it took so long. i should have pics up hopefully after the new years

well bad news....the transmission had to be shipped back because overdrive did not function no matter what i did it wouldnt shift in. so i sent it back and the replacement should be here in 2 weeks and then ill have some pictures up right now all you see is an adapter bolted to an sm465 bellhousing

and the pictures i took during the build wont load on my computer but will load on my laptop (it doesnt have net connection) so ill go to kinkos and have them build an online album

well that sucks...nice to see that they are honoring the warranty though and not trying to blame it on "installer error". still sucks when you've got all that "sweat equity" into a transmission install...you almost feel like they should pay YOU...

are you using a factory hydraulic clutch setup? your 85 should've been equipped with one from the factory.

those things are SUPER hard to find, found one complete minus the fork and throwout bearing the other day at the junkyard, but i didnt have time to pull it.

yes its factory i just unbolted the sm465 from the bellhousing installed the adapter and bolted the nv4500 to it made a custom crossmember the whole kit was pretty much a complete bolt in. only part that wasnt a bolt in was the drive shaft i had to get it shortened.

i can't vouch for exactly who he went with, but there are a few companies out there that offer this conversion package...here's a link to one...
