On our '03 Silverado ecsb, the front passenger seatbelt locks and won't let go most of the time. Is there a way to fix this? I have heard that, since this could be a safety issue, that GM may fix it for free?:rocking:Whatever, this is darned annoying and HAS to be fixed!
Any help?:dunno:

is it getting pulled all the way out? if so, it locks up by design(child seat stuff) after it is pulled out all the way, until it is allowed to retract fully

DUH!!
We tried it tonight without pulling it all the way out and it worked fine! I guess maybe I should read the manual or something? Thanks for the info!

I am a BIG guy and usually pull the belt out all the way when I get into the passenger seat. Then that darn belt locks and drives me crazy(The wife says that is a short drive!). The wife, being more petit doesn't have the problem as often as I do. I suspect that she doesn't normally pull the belt out all the way.
Time will tell!:dunno:

Yeah, both of mine do that really bad... just gotta let it go back in a little and pull it all the way out in ONE SMOOTH motion. Don't stop, or it will usually lock up...

Ours won't give an inch. If you let some go back in, then you have just lost that much more!
But after Dave said to not pull it out all the way, we haven't had any more trouble.:mushy:
