Any ideas would be great.

1997 stock 5.7 Vortec, starting about a month ago my truck started having high idle problems, idles at about 1600, when driving if i come to a stop light/sign ice on the road, if i shift in to N (its an automatic) my idle jumps to 2100 then after about 10 seconds it comes down to 1600, i've cleaned the linkage and the throttle body twice doesn't seem to help.

could be an intake gasket leak. friggin notorious for it.
upper intake or lower intake. gonna have to get close and spray some carb cleaner on it

Spray around with ether or carb cleaner and check for a vacuum leak. If there isn't its probably your IAC valve. Mine stuck last week and was idling at 1800 and then I cleaned it and smacked the crap out of it and its working halfway decent but it still needs replaced.

Thanks for your input, can you tell me what the IAC looks like and were its at.
Is that the same as Idle Speed Control?
