The bigger the pipe the deeper the sound?

Up to a point, yes... what size engine? what mods?

I'd go no larger than 2.5" on a stock 350 (for a dual pipe setup). I've heard of folks running dual 3" pipe on a stock 350, but in the same breathe they complain about losing low-end torque.

it gets deeper up to a certain point, around 3 inch is as big as you want to go, i ran dual 3 inch on a 5.3, yeah it sounded good but the low end went out the back door
