I have a 2000 Chevy 2500 extra cab and was looking for a storage compartment or unit that fits under the lift up rear seat.
Anyone have any recommendations ?

I know I've seen them on JCWhitney, but I'm sure there are several different styles out there.

There was also a thread on here recently where someone made one. I was actually thinking of posting a thread on this earlier today, hoping that someone would have the link of the home-made storage box. I'm going to go to work on one this week.

EDIT: Here's the one I've seen. It's from BesTop and it's $230. LINK. (http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-VehicleBrowse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2007508/p-2007508/N-111+2004+200729946+600001525/c-10101)

$230 for a plastic box seems a bit steep.

That's why I'm going to build one. :cool:

I don't want to hijack the thread, but if anyone has pics or a link to one they built themselves, post it up. I didn't want to make a thread for it, but I can't find it with the search.

Build your own. I used some 1x8 and built a three side box that fits perfectly under the seat. For the price of the wood, wood screws and paint I totaled out at under $20. I ran the wood back to where the seat mounts and had the wood to the outside of the bracket. Then put a smaller board to the inside, run wood screws to hold the boards together and the three sided box doesn't move. Of course you have to make a cut on the front board for the hump. My wife then painted the box and it works like a champ holding everything under my back seat.

Here are a couple links to pictures showing the box I built;
