Sup, fellars. Im looking into buying this steering wheel for my truck since the one I have on now is in pretty bad shape. This is the actual steering wheel im looking to buy. Is brand spanking new, never used. It was for a custom 96'conversion van made by Southern Comfort. It'll only fit 96-97 since the air bag system was changed in 98'. I alomst bought a 98' steering wheel but found out it wont work on a 96-97'.
Do ya'll think it'll look good with my gray interior or will it clash? I like the look on it but Im undicided if tan will be good if I just left it like that.

I like it, nice to know you at least have an option with airbags.

Um, that steering wheel won't look good with that gray interior, I would try to find one completely black or gray instead of tan.

Spray dye it...i have done wheels before. it holds up great because the leather is porus. Just re-dye the whole thing one color.

I have a factory steering wheel off of my 99 Chevy Tahoe that I am trying to sell. Let me know if you are interested. It's in good condition. I took it out because I bought a billet steering wheel.

Well, the guy at autowoods told me the 96-97 air bags are smaller than the 98+. I was going to buy a leather carbon fiber steering wheel he had listed for 98-2002 trucks. But he told me it wouldnt work and that's when he sent me the pics to the steering wheel above. He said it's made just for 96-97's and his done all types of conversions.

where can I find a billet steering wheel, especially for a 99 tahoe. Did the airbag create any issues or any modifications or what it a straight kit.

You can use a 98-99 air bag in the wheel by just swapping out the clock spring. Then you can add audio controls also. I did this in my 97z-71 Much nicer wheel
