door switch

tried searching.... could not find any info

The passenger door light switch went out on my 97 gmc.
Being that it's in the dash and everything is plastic, i was wondering if anyone has replaced one before.
Is there a trick to get the old one out? Can i just pry the old one out or do i need to take part of the dash apart? :dunno:

you should be able to wiggle it around and get it out or go in behind the glove box! It just snaps in!

got the new one in. A little tip for anyone doing it... pull the socket up towards the switch opening before putting the switch in the opening. It is a pita if you put the switch in first, there isn't enough room to get at the socket.

i pulled that little vent out and used my finger to hold the clips in to remove them. there kinda tuff to get out, but u can bend the prongs to make it work right agin, i put some houshold oil in both of mine when i took them out they work great now.
