i have a 2005 with a 5.3 in it. I have a cold air intake from airraid with a thottle body spacer. now i am looking to change my exhaust out. what do you think i should run i want it to be loud and deep. i dont want the popping sound some people have. should i stay with single or go to duals. but when going down the highway i still want to talk to the passanger without yelling and hear the radio.

Get your truck true dual'd with two flowmaster 40 series and run straight out the back... tell him to stagger the mufflers too, it cuts down the droning sound on the highway...
You cant go wrong with flow's IMO opinion...
and someone is gonna chime in with magnaflow this and that.... I have had magnaflow's on my car ( 93 5.0 Stang ) and my truck and they are nothing but a glorified glass pack....

ive got borla on my 5.3 tahoe and i love it. i switched to it from a 40 series flow. the borla was not quite as loud outside but it still has a nice deep tone to it. it is also a lot quieter inside. the borla also freed up a little power.

I agree, I have Borla on my '04 Silverado and my '07 Tahoe, and I love them. They design their SUV systems to be a little quieter, but it still has a nice deep tone, and it's just loud enough without being annoying. My Silverado Is louder and also has the same deep tone, but is quiet on the highway which is what I like. Before I put the Borla on my truck I had a Flowmaster system which sounded good, even though it popped on deceleration, but within a year was rusting pretty bad so I decided to upgrade to a stainless system that would last a long time. I also noticed a power increase on both systems, even over the flowmaster system that was previously on my truck.
