stock exhause without muffler

i cut my sock muff off my 05 chevy with a 5.3 and it sounds awsome not raspy at all but i heard something that it is hard on the motor,,is this true

no, the decrease is backpressure should help performance, weld a peice of pipe back in where the muffler was and get some of your savenging back and you could see better mpg and more power!

Must be damn loud though :eek: But it's an easy way to gain some power if you can handle the decibel level.

it sound reall good its actually not that loud i will get a sound clip as soon as i can find my usb cable it actually really deep and mellow

nope its not that loud lol..alot of the other trucks that go to my school are 10time louder than my truck and they havent got pulled over yet
