View Full Version : tbi 5.7 seems low on power bluthunder 01-06-2008, 09:20 PM hi there im new here i have a 95 gmc with a tbi 5.7 and a 4l60e tranny ive just got back into fooling with the truck again runs smooth now but it has always been a turd looking 4 a little help killa66cam 01-07-2008, 07:22 PM Little advice, search a lil bit to see if your question has been asked before. Here is a very helpful thread: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/performance/212064-ultimate-88-98-obs-performance-toolbox.html?highlight=ultimate+tbi+mods If you search, there are others. Cam discostu 01-07-2008, 09:07 PM Here's what I'd do: - Full tune up (including fuel filter, distributor cap, spark plugs, wires, seafoam) - Check your timing (Factory setting probably 0* or a couple degrees advanced) - Check your fuel pressure at idle and while driving, should be at LEAST 12psi (make sure it doesn't drop when you press the pedal) - After you've done that, you can start with the go fast goodies. Just as a side note, my dad has the same truck, and it runs like a top, good power and smooth as a babies a$$, with no performance mods whatsoever. I've just made sure it's in tip-top shape for him. vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
