Sorry for the ****ty cell phone pictures. Ill will have nice pictures with my digi from here on out!
Well got my truck to the shop tonight and got an ok start on it. It was kinda late by the time I got off work and it up there.
First tonight we torr off all the JC Whitney bull**** that was on it, haha. Bug gaurd, chrome frender trim, mudflaps, cheap bedcover, factory moldings etc. Cut some exhuast off, and took the bed off.
Tomorrow will be clean up the rest of the body and take the rest of the rocker panels off, and take the dorky pinstrip off and stat with some notching and on with the bag stuff.
As some of you know im worried about fitting my ZR1 Vette wheels on the back... 17x11s i think i screwed up on that move, we will see.
Anyways, I will keep updates as we go, should have the truck done in about 3 weeks.
I will keep everyone posted with pictures and info.
Im amped!!!
now with some ****ty pictures.

EDIT THESE ARE THE FRONT WHEELS NOT THE REAR - 1-30-08 update.
Taking a night off, the camera is still at the shop so again no updated pictures of the truck.
my ZR1 wheels came in today and they are actully measuring 17x10.5 a little less. Im thinking with the flat front face of he wheel and no lip it will deff tuck even with a 1.25" adapter. Being there is no front lip. And Being is a 10.5" wide wheel im thinking the space should pull it away from my 4 link just enough, what do you guys think??
Tomorrow i really will find out.
crappy cell phone pictures of the wheels.
I really think with a 50mm offset at 17x10.5" wide they will fit with the 1.25" adapter.

So thats 9 inches of backspace then, then a 1.25" adapter so that is 7.75 inches of backspacing.
Wait i forgot the wheel was 10.5 and not 11...
Ahh forget it im shot. Ill figure it out tomorrow.

Thats what im thiking. I see guys running 10 wide all the time with less of a backspace and more of a front lip on the wheels and they fit. Im running the max amount of backspace no lip and spacer so I get my 4 link mounted up and the wheels and spacers to the shop i wont know. Its driving me nuts.

So from what you saw with my math and backspace and offset, sounds like it should be close, huh? Im running a little more backspace with a 1.25" spacer. Might be right on??
This is tricky cuz there are only you and TPICHEVY who are running this wide of a setup without tubbing.

Well the adapters came in and did some pre fitting and measuring, but it looks like the 17x11" vette wheels are going to fit!!! They arnt even close to rubbing the 4 link, there is like a good 3" left behind the wheel to the link bars. Pretty damn amped on this ordeal. It looks like i have a good inch from it rubbing the rear fender lips NOT ROLLED! According to my measurements. But till the beds on i dont know for sure. But it looks like there is alot more room then i had thought.
Sorry i dont have pictures forgot the camera tonight, but i know alot of people are curious about the fitment of my width in the rear.

That is kickass to hear man. we are busting ass. Nice to be some insperation and gratification for you and others.
as for weather we have our major cold spell once a year like -1 or -2 for a few weeks. Which we are having right now. MN is alot worse along with Canada during the winter months. We have had it pretty nice here for the last few winters not much snow and mild winter temps anywhere from 35-50 degrees for highs. Summers are still about 100+ like the desert. Kinda funny how extreme we can be here. We really only have had winter for 5 out of the 7 months the last 5 years. Less snow the the upper east coast and warmer. Not as bad as people talk about. I used to live in So.Cal so i know how it can be all year around in the desert.
Anyways.

Edit
Major mistake on my part, been busy with the truck project. As most of you guys know so many parts being shipped in, not so much time with work. I wasn't paying attention when I received my shipment of ZR1 VETT wheels. I had grabbed the wrong box and grabbed the box containing the front wheel, 17x9.5, which truley measures 17x10.25. I had posted this in other threads stating that the rear wheels were going to be this when actually they are going to be 17x11, truley measuring 17x12. My bad. With this extreme offset of 50mm + I have enough rear space with my KP 4 link to fit but I am worried about it tucking now. I guess this is a test and trial on my part, let's see if I can pull it off. Wow! Big mistake.

Looks good man. I would suggest an AVS box over that bulky 10 switch. I have one in both my s10's and love them. A lot smaller and easier to use.

Of course, it sexy. I just have to find out if i can pull off a zr1 vette wheel that truely measures 17x12... If i do make it fit. I guess i will be the first obs truck to be bagged layed out and tucking this wide of a wheel without a tub.

If I am not mistaken wheels are measured from the inside not the outside of the lip. At least that is the case the with Intros that I have.

Couldnt you just measure the bed wheel wells,,lip to lip? that would give you the maximum width. Those wheels are wide man, dont know if they'll fit but they are nice. Hope it works out!

I tried, but couldnt get a very good measurement. My beds tipped upright, and i was the only one at the shop last night so i had troulbe taking measurements. Ill have to just set the bed back on the truck here and see if it physically will work. Its just that close.

I should have bought Z06 or C5 wheels. They would have tucked for sure in the back. the ZR1 wheels have the widest wheel and the least backspace.
If the rears dont work, i might just order a pair just like the front 17x9.5....
Booo that.

Get someone to hold one end of the tape, and measure the bed. Lot less labor than tryin to set the bed over the wheels,,might even scratch em or bang the box up against them and you still have to set the box back where it was.. I hate lifting stuff if I dont have to.

HAha, i hear ya. What im gonna do is take the wheels off and set the bed back on and then bolt the wheels back up, as soon as i get back to the shop with a few buddies and throw the bed on. Thats going to be the only way.

Marcos, i was just kidding when i said they would look like poop. Ive seen them on a OBS Rcsb bagged and black, they looked killer. Im only running them this spring and early summer. My buddy already said he is going to by them from me and put them on his ole caddy he is bagging. Then im going to run a Boyd wheel Junkyard Dogs. Then mess around with the vette wheels this summer too, once the truck is on the ground.

Everything is rebuilt and replaced, or repacked, new and fresh. My buddy did them for me at his work, there is one peice he needed new it was the seals for the hubs the cost like 10 bucks for both.

DRAGGIN95
02-21-2008, 05:27 PM
Hello, the difference is that 95 up has 4 wheel ABS, 94 and down most don't even though it was an option, so the 95 up have a reluctor wheel for the abs sensor that is part of the rotor, I have seen them for 95 and up but a lot more money, you could use the ones listed above for 94 and down if you are eliminating your abs or don't care that it doesn't function.

clean man..real clean..On a side note, how are those drilled and slotted rotors? Everyone is telling me to stay away from them because they can crack? I dont know how true that is and im sure you havent gotten to use them but ya..keep up the good work
Ive seen ceramic pads make them crack but regular pads you should be fine.

I installed them during the bag instll so they havent been used yet. They come with there own pads too.

03-05-2008, 06:46 PM
What kind of pads do they come with. I just went with powerslot's rotors and hawk pads cause a lot of people were talking a lot of them and didnt really hear anything bad about them. Amazing setup! Thats really all i have to say about them. The only thing that im worried about is the the pulling to the left and im not sure if i should blame it on the swap or because of alignment being done, rims being put on or what. It almost seems as if it floats when im braking hard so i dont feel that its from the brakes. Otherwise awesome setup. I even went with the Russell lines from summit and they were nothing to install. I highly recommend them. I love the braking and i still havent dont the rear. Those will give me a little stronger pressure so wewll see what happens. Although i did do the rears as well so im ridin new brakes all the way around. Those yellow lights have been catching me lately and ive had no problem stopping. Hope that helps a little bit.
Anyways, enough rambling on your post bro...haha. Looks good. I calculated that those wheels should fit on there bro. 11 inches in the rear is about the biggest you can put back there but the should fit. Although it seems as if you have 12 inches wide according to the pics of the wheels? anyways! i think the boyd coddingtons would look sick bro! are you going with 20s?

Looks good, but don't the compressor's get restricted by teeing them together? And it looks like you might have to much threads showing on your bars but I can't tell, just want to make sure you don't mess you sweet ride up...

i love reading your build up of this truck. im actually going to use it as a guideline on doing my truck considering its pretty much the same. what exactly did u do for baggin the front end? i noticed to used 2" drop spindles. did u just weld on cups on the stock arms or did u use aftermarket ones? also if it wouldnt be to much trouble could u post pictures of it? thank

DEBAGGIN. PRO STREET SOON, NOT FOR SALE.
All bagged parts are for sale in the for sale section.
How come i didnt think of this earlier? Debagging the truck. Im running cups and bags up front. That i can replace with coils and drop spindles. The rear is notch well it doesnt matter anyways, if im looking for a tubbed truck or going to tubb a truck. I im going to be running a coilover mounted on the axle anyways, so i dont need to deal with spring perches that were cut off. I just need to run a race 4 link with the coilovers. All I need to do is put the truck on jackstands, and start selling all the bagged stuff, and put the front back to static. And can take all the time in the world to tub the rear and install the new race 4 link along with the coilovers and narrowed rearend. Truck is no longer for sale. But all my 5 month old bagged parts are. Ive put 1000 miles on the truck since it has been bagged so these are new parts. My truck is too clean to give up on it now.
