Older Diesel

I found a 85 blazer with a diesel engine in it. I know nothing about them. Please give me some info as what to look for when I go to look at it.

6.2, more than likely non turbo (although there are a few banks turbo conversions out there, some even dealer installed)

great motor if you want super fuel mileage, bad motor if you want power, and it is pretty reliable as long as you dont beat on it like its a duramax

I liked the 6.2. Was a good engine. Just wasn't a power monster. But overall it was reliable.

Go to dieselplace.com and look through the 6.2 or 6.5 sections....they have buying guides in the FAQs...
