i have a 96 silverado with a 4 inch rc spindle lift and 1.5 inch daystar spacers. if i got some springs that come in the pro comp 6 inch lift and install them will it work. would i have to replace the upper a arms or what.

Yeah, I have 2" springs in mine and have about 1" of upward travel and with the alignment knockouts taken out. I still have negative camber with it adjusted all the way out. The ride was so bad from the a-arms hitting the frame I drilled a hole in each upper a-arm and installed tiny bump stops to soften the impact. Tubular upper arms are on my to do list next!

you cant add a lift spring to a coil spacer.. my 3 inch spring is the max you can do. I have very little down travel and the ride is pretty harsh.
The springs from procomp are 2 inch springs i think.. if you want to just take out your coil spacer and use those springs it would work. Upper arms are recommended for springs that are 2-3 inches of lift

do ya'll know how much the upper control arms cost. i could only find the upper and the lower together and it was about $1300. i have a 3 inch body lift also. i really asked this question because i want to run 35's.

^^^^^ stay far far far away from that spring tech ****!!!!! Find some used fabtech or cst arms on ebay... They are a bit more expensive but they are way better made and wont destroy your ball joints.
The 1300 dollar ones are long travel.. not what you need prolly

yea i really don't need long travel i just want to run 35's. i've heard i can do it now but i want to be 100% before i spend the money on the tires.

dude post pics of it with the bl
Just curious do the coilspacers stiffen your ride? Make it hard to align?

lol how will those arms destroy the ball joints? I know a guy that has been running some for a while with ZERO problems

Ive seen a set trash a guys truck.. they are just made cheaper. He had BJ probs for the longest and then one day while backing out of the drive way.. POP. Damn thing broke on the driver side. The plate the ball joint attaches to friggan separated from the tube ( weld snapped). Also in general the set i saw made for worse camber than usual.
Also a guy on this site used them for a 02 or something and they trashed his balljoints and caused his front tires to get cut when they failed..
Use them if you want.. im sure plenty get by fine with them but after what i saw im not touching them.
And for V6 offroad's question, yes coil spacers will stiffen ride regardless of what the companies say. The spacers cause the springs to compress some and therefore, stiffen the ride. Also you will loose down travel.

in all honesty it didn't affect the ride that bad. i mean it made it stiffer but it wasn't that bad. i'll try and get some pics on here by the end of the week. so do ya'll think i can squeeze some 35's under there? I don't want to lift it with those control arms after what fabtech said.

coil spacers do ride better than my 3 inch coils lol... but they are a little worse than stock.
You wont need arms for just a daystar spacer.. but it would help.
with 8.5 inches of lift you can run 35's. Just run a 8 inch wide wheel and you should be fine.. maybe a bit of rubbing in locked turns.

i think that my coil spacers made it ride better....yeah it was a little bit rougher but not bad at all and it feels more stable...IMO

Yeah if you really want to get your back adjusted without a chiropractor put some three inch coils in and ride down a ****ty interstate going 70+ mph (Birmingham AL is a fantastic choice by the way)
I love my truck but the ride really suffered with coils, its just as bad as a z71 with 3 inches of crank. But its only really bad on a bad road..

lol yeah I hate fast stops on a bumpy road. It starts hopping and chirps the tires then abs kicks in and the brakes go all mushy and I'm like

Well i have been reading this and seen nothing about ball joint spacers. You can pick them up at 4wp pretty cheap. like 70 bucks or so. they give you like 2 more inches of space to lift with coils or spacers. FYI.

I have used a set actually.. i dont really recommend them but you are right they do work. But they dont give you much space.. they just fix ball joint angles in the most part.
