mileage question

what kinda mileage could i expect to get with a LB7 or LLY? im looking to buy a new truck and its between a 08 silvy 5.3 or 03-05 Dmax, Im looking for some longevity so im wanting to go with the diesel cuz i think around 300k sounds about right for the diesel. i plan on having whatever i buy next for the next 8 years so i want something thats gonna go as long as possible.

If you treat the diesel right, it will go way past 300k miles. Both trucks are great but if I were you I would get the diesel, more power, double the torque, better fuel mileage. You can't go wrong with a diesel.

I get 18 to 18.5 mpg average with a 07 3500HD. So I would think the LLY and LB7 will be about the same. I drive about 70% in town, 30% highway. Towing 4 atv's on the highway up north I get right around 17-18 mpg. The digital readout, read 24 mpg on highway, but I think that is off.

i get 14+ in the city, 18+ on the highway with my LB7 and thats lifted on 37's. on 285's ive gotten over 20 on the highway at 70MPH. towing a 7K lb trailer up to the mountains i can get 13-14 MPG still and with as much power as its got i can set the cruise the whole way and she never even kicks down out of 5th, cant do that with a 5.3, my dads buddy has a 6.0 in his HD and hes always downshifting and cant use cruise or OD a lot of the time towing the same trailer, he also gets less than 10MPG pulling it.
