ive got a 05 duramax with a cold air intake and banks monster duals.. but want more.. looking for a mild programmer that isnt to out of control

and PPE is the way im probably going to go hopefully sometime soon, ive got a hypertech now that works really well and its safe for the stock tranny. it has 3 power levels with the highest being almost 100HP over stock and it really wakes the dmax up so for a safe tuner i would recommend it. now that i had my tranny built though im looking at getting a PPE hot ET+2

I dunno. I don't see any tuner harmful unless it adds more then 100 horsepower. Then you better put money down on a new heavy built Allison transmission. The stock transmission are tough as a rock if you use them for towing and driving to dairy queen. But if you over tune it. It will fail. I hear alot about PPE I might try that myself someday.

HAHA! The pic is a rendering but that is very close to what the final product will look like. I'm building it as we speak!

Hypertech is a good safe tuner as well. PPE has different versions of each programmer and many many different power levels.

then PPE,Quadzilla,Diablo.or you could buy the EFI live software an download premade tunes or create your own tunes.all these are good ones.the first three cost around $400-$500 or so and the EFI live software cost $800 an you get 2 free downloads with it and you can program 2 trucks at a time right out the box and it cost $200 for each additional truck an it works on all GM Gas motors from 99 an up along with the duramax.

i could be wrong about the 2 free downloads,my friend got 2 but it is prolly different depending on who sells it to you.

If money is of no concern, and you want a product that you can always adjust and grow with, go EFI Live. You can go from mild, to seriously wild. A few guys out there that make awesome tunes ready to install and adjust if needed. Contact Nick at duramaxtuner. It is worth talking to him to see what you think. PPE, Quadzilla, Hypertech, Diablo all have great products also.

It's actually pretty tame to some that are out there...but the nice things is it's "safe power" for the most part. Many other tuners can EASILY exceed the 6 gun and the stock equipment's threshold and cause breakage and BIG $$$ upgrades.

duramax 05, where in Michigan are you? if moneys not an issue and you really want to have some fun with your truck then id contact Eric Merchant of Merchant Automotive about building your tranny or upgrading to a suncoast stage 3 or 4 so you can run a big tuner and not have to worry about smoking your tranny. Eric's one of the best allison builders in the country, i had him build my tranny last summer and its awesome, now with the shift kit it shifts so much quicker and firmer and really makes the truck a lot more fun to drive. i still have yet to get a bigger tune due to lack of money but with eric's stage 3 package i should be able to run at least 5-600 RWHP with no problem. his shops in Holland, MI, heres a link to his site if your interested: http://www.merchant-automotive.com/
