Is there any way to disable the headlights from coming on all the time on a '99 OBS? I don't like having them on during the day. The only way I know of is to push the e-brake down just a bit, but I'm looking for a permanent fix. I've pulled the DRL relay, but then my dash lights don't work...
Any ideas?

fuse number 15 in the interior box.

The only problem I had with just pulling out the fuse is that the green light on the dash still stays on when the headlights are off. When my friend had my dash apart to do my alarm I just pulled the bulb out so I would not have to look at the green headlight sign anymore.

Just curious... why did you guys want to disable the DRL's?

its ok when driving but i leave my car on the headlights are always on, which is annoying in parking lots etc. The parking brake works too, but thats why there is a light switch. It would be better if GM made it so they are on out of park only.

It almost seems like the DRL thing was an afterthought by GM, at least it seems that way for my 98 Silverado. I have always found it odd that there isn't any difference in the truck's light functionality between the 'running light' position and the headlight 'full-on' position. Is there a difference in how the tail lights react to these different switch positions or something?

I'm not sure if it was 95 or 96 but the DRL's went to low beam at 100%. Older OBS trucks have the high beam at 75% or so as DRL's. When the NBS trucks came out the DRL's went to a seprate bulb all together. :whatever: I think the late OBS rigs have the best DRL's. If you like them that is. Pull fuse 15 if you don't. Who cares about a little green light? Green means go! :rocking:
