ok, i got my 88 k5 home, guy said the 350 had a bad knock. he had pulled the throttle body for another truck. no biggie. it was 500 bucks and a GREAT body! i had an 87 305 laying around, so i figured i would do the swap. 305 was an auto engine so i picked up a pilot. so i yank the motor and as was 6' in the air we look it over. no pilot bushing. i thought it came out easy, here come the problems. now every time we find something new, we say that explain it. then we find...its a 305 block. pull off the flywheel, its a 2 piece main! still had the 350 centerbolt heads on it! must have been a stump puller....so now i dont have a 350 to rebuild (its ok though, i have a 94 lt1 to drop in in a few months), i dont have a flywheel, and its too late to go to advance  so, i had to pack up for the night. first thing in the morning, though... i just want to know what the guy who did it was thinking! plenty of things left out, but man...no pilot bushing??? :shortbus:
