well i brought her last night the guy says it came with the 5.7
its 4x4 it runs the trans is bad it only gos in R how can i tell if its got a th350 or th400. the driveshaft is missing along with the bellhouseing we brought it to restore as a father/son
we paid 200 bucks it blue with white top and white center

If it's a th350 it the pan will be square with the back passenger side corner cutoff (so to speak)
Heres a link to a pan for one. It'll look like that if its the 350 style.

I once had a 1980 chevy blazer, bought it for $500ca. it ran like a bag of hammers and the body was so rotten the seats fell thru the floor but it was one heck of a ride. lotsa fun for the money. I tore it apart to rebuild it but the price of a body is too much for me so im using the parts on a 1 ton frame (if i get it lol)to make a good work/play truck. good luck on your build, I love the body style of that era.
(p.s. when i took the body off the frame, I just lifted it with a forklift. the only thing holding it on was the tranny linkage and some wires...)
as for the tranny rebuild I wouldnt expect it to be over $1000, but if you wanna save money go to the local wreckers and get a used one. Ive payed $350 for a th350 and if its a good wreckers they'll give you a short warranty.
