I am picking up my new project tomorrow. It is a 1937 Chevrolet 2 door coupe. The car is completely original and will be restored originally with no changes. It will be painted back black with all parts rebuilt instead of buying new. Here are pics of the car before it even gets to my house.

Juging by the era , the bullet hole in the window and the rear damage ...... it could be eliot ness's car or bonnie and clyde.
Cant wait to see some pictures when it goes under the knife.

:whacko: He was right... it is a sedan.. The drive train will remain exactly the same. It has what I believe to be a 216 straight 6 with a 3 speed behind it. The can is going to be completely stock with all original part reubilt, rechromed, and reworked by hand. I hope to have it running by Friday and I am giving myself 6 months to get everything done and ready for paint... Kind of optimistic but I pushed 3 other projects out for this one..
Damn nice find, good luck.

dont worry about the fenders and running boards they make them in fiberglass and smooth steel for the running boards.
dhallftworth

The running boards are great except for the rubber on them... All the metal will be metal... No fiberglass anywhere on this car.. I plan on using very little body filler to smooth it out when I reach that point... I did get a surprise last night when I got it home!! All but one original tires hold air like a champ and the spare is in near perfect shape!! I pulled the cover off of the back seat and the cloth is actually in decent shape, for having a busted window.. I'll post up some pics later today of what I have got accomplished so far.

I rebuilt the master cyclinder yesterday night at like 12am and hope to be able to bleed the brakes and find that out either today or tomorrow... I still have to try and get a title for it too.. I think I might bleed the tranny and rearend before I try and drive it... What do yall think??

i would check the tranny fluid and filter and the rear end at least that way you can inspect it and see if thing that will make you not want to drive it. I would roll it as it is jk
There's a place on the other side of Rockwall that has plenty of 30-60's Chevys out front and it's always something different when I go by. They might have something you need or know where to get it.

Yea trust me once I got the brakes done I wanted to jump in the car and take off.... OK for some of you who use gear oil I have a question....I know most people run 85 weight but 140 weight runs much cooler and I think it would be better for these old gears... what do yall think?? (rear end and tranny)

i'm glad you're definition of 'restored' is actually restored, not resto-rodded or resto-modded. don't know why that bugs me so much when you see some old something on ebay that has been 'restored' and it has cheap edelbrock valve covers, the snake air cleaner, chrome nugget wheels, and so on.
very nice project. i'm looking forward to seeing the gauges restored. if i could remember who my old mech used, i'd give you the name.:rocking:

Here's an update... I've been stuck in Midland for the last 2 weeks and haven't been able to work on my car... That May 17th deadline for the car show is creeping up really quick....Anyone wanna give me a hell of a deal on a paint job? It's just going to be gloss black...
