1. relieve the fuel pressure by depressing the schrader valve on the fuel rail.
2. disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connections from the top of the tank
3. disconnect the fuel filler hose.
4. drop the tank or take the bed off, taking the bed off is best in some cases.
5. Blow all the dust and junk off the top of the tank.
6. use a screw driver and hammer to tap the lock ring around the top of the tank into the unlocked position.
7. Carefully lift the fuel pump/sending unit assembly out of the tank, be careful not to bend the sending unit arm
8. the fuel pump is a shiney little clinder inside the assembly, you may have to remove a plstic cover.
9. you will have to cut the crinkled plastic hose connected to the pump in order to get it off
10. replace the pump and use 3/8 inch fuel injction fuel line to replace the crinkled plastic hose and use hose clamps to secure it.
11. installation is reverse of removal.
