I just had my Pioneer Avic-D3 installed today in my 08 silverado. when i left the shop i noticed my service air bag light was on. i asked my friend that did the install and he said on the nnbs trucks when you take apart the dash the airbag light comes on and i need to go to a dealer or shop to have it scanned and over-ridden. anyone else heard this or had this problem??

if you were in Texas, I would take care of it for you.

it happened to me on my '07 classic, but it was when I removed the seats to run wiring. There are switches in the seats. When I plugged them back in, the light went out. And I just happen to have a couple of scanners.

I've never had that problem on the NNBS trucks we've done. I'm leaning towards its something that didn't get plugged back in.

You need to tell the guy who installed it if hes 100% sure its not something plugged back in, because if you take it to the dealership and they charge you for something, hes getting the bill.

i just went to the shop today and they re-checked it. they said they turned the ignition on while everything was disconnected and that possible threw the code. they checked today and they said everything was connected and nothing was run off the airbag system's power.
