ok say i had an 87 chevy K5 (im lookin at one maybe), how hard would it be to convert back to the older style, 73-80 grille? the looks of that raised center area are really starting to grow on me, i think they look a lot more beastly. just wondering what it would cost really i jknow people swap the other way all the time

It's not "hard" to do. It should be a bolt on deal, but it may not be easy to find clean, rust free parts. You will need the hood, fenders, fender liners, core support, and everything that attaches to it.
What that really means is, you need a donor truck. The good news is, if your front clip is in good shape, it has a decent value....
