I was told that some guys on here have what I'm looking for. Trying to find a gauge pod that goes in the overhead console of a '98 Suburban, in place of the rear HVAC controls. I've done numerous google searches, as well as used the search feature here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

On the console, just above your mirror, or the one in the back?

Dealership is the best place to get these parts, IMO. Unless you have a well-stocked junk yard nearby.

I'm looking for an aftermarket part that replaces the controls just above the rear view mirror with an aftermarket gauge pod.

Don't know that I've specifically seen one for that. My guess would be that it's a custom piece, but I could be wrong.

You ever tried your hand at fiberglass? :dunno:

well, my original plan was simply to have a plate CNC'd for the spot, but then someone told me that there are already gauge holders "out there" for that purpose, so I went searching.

A little more info, I do have a '98 K1500 'burban, but this project is actually for my '99 Saturn SC2, which I installed a 'burban console into:

looks about right, though the console is a little different. Anyone able to confirm that the hole is the same size & shape? I'll research on my own (not looking for just spoon fed info), but if someone knows for sure, I won't mind some confirmation. ;)

*edit* reading > me - that says it's for '99-'06, and I have the up to '98 console. Not sure if the holes are the same size, but I would think they would advertise it for the previous years if it fit, though it wouldn't be the first time a company didn't realize what all their product fit.

Well we can do this
I the same overhead in my 94 Blazer, measure your hole :aniteef: the opening, and I'll measure mine. I'm 90% sure they're exactly the same.

top to bottom is 2 7/16, side to side is like 6 5/8 at the max width, but of course the sides are curved. I thought the blazer had a similar console, but with an info center dealio at the front, and an extra pair of lights at the back...

Yea man mine is the same size.

So the gauges you linked will fit? You sure the curves on the ends are the same?

I called them and they said it would fit the 96-00 trucks' consoles too.

I am using this right now but I might switch to the socal one later because I want my gauges angled towards me.

great info, tnx. :) Though that one looks like it's essentially the same as what a friend of mine is going to be CNCing for me for free eventually. I'll probably just wait for it, though the angled ones are tempting... but $125 does a lot to stave off temptation when compared to free. lol
