I finally did it. I used a Belltech 2-3" kit on my 2wd 01 Tahoe. It uses torsion keys up front, & coil springs out back w/ new shocks all around. It took exactly 2 hours to install the entire kit! So easy, I wished all kits were that way.
The front end didn't have to be taken apart, just bolt on the shocks. The keys came out by removing bolt & clamping with a 16" (I think) C-clamp. The coils out back were even easier: remove the 1 bolt on each side to disconnect sway bar, remove shocks & lower rearend down til the stock springs fall out. Reinstall springs & new shocks, bolt up the sway bar & you are cruisin!

How did I miss this thread?

Your Hoe looks nice! You have any bigger pics of it? I want to see the fender gap you have. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to go with 3/5 or 2/3.

Send more pics. I would assume that the 01 2WD Tahoe has the same suspension as my Yukon. I've been looking into lowering it. How much did it cost you and where did you get your kit from?

I've got an '02 Yukon with a DJM 3/5 drop and DoetschTech shocks. I'm pretty happy with it, although the rear end is pretty stiff now, not too much room for travel. But I guess it comes with the territory. I'd post pics, but AOL won't let me link any more. If I figure it out, I'll get some pics up.

Thanks for the compliments! I got my kit at Hunter's custom automotive in Nashville, Tn. I paid around $450 for it w/ shocks. It is a Belltech 2-3 drop. It rides pretty close to factory. I have not bottomed out even with 7 people in it (3rd seat riders too). I haven't towed with it yet so I will let you know about that in the spring as it sees duty towing my hot rod to shows. The install only took 2-1/2 hours. Very easy. I'll look for some more pics.
