:word: Unless it was modded, I think the bowtie was on the hood for the 69/70 trucks and in the grille for the 71/72 trucks

Nope not a 72 unless he swapped grilles. The hoods on the 70s, 71s and 72s are like the one on this truck though, with a more vertical front. The 67-69s had more of a slope to them..
GmcJoe, yea the bowtie is in the grille for the 71s and 72s..I've got a 72 my self...

Yep, 67 didn't have the side markers, 68-72 did.
He probably shaved the markers or maybe switched the grille? Who knows :D

I didn't think you could use the 69-72 grille with the 67/68 fenders

The 67/8 fenders are 'raked' in the front I thought?

ok now i am shocked at almost all of the replies to this forum. now i am no officianado on all years of fullsize chevy's...but the 67 and 68 share the same front end the only difference in those years is that 68's had the side markers on the fenders, 69 started the boxier nose, with only a slight change to the grill insert for the 70, the 71 and 72 changed the grill to the honeycomb...still utilizing the boxier front end.....only differnce was in the location of the bowtie.... and no the fenders from 67 or 68 will not fit a 69-72 hood style. ok so there it is, correct me if i am wrong....but i believe that is the differences. alos 67 was the only true year with the small back window as standard......68 it was offered as an option, and deleted in 69.

no don't take what i said as a crack at anyone........i was ordering parts from a well known junkyard around here who specializes in truck and classics.............the guy there tried to sell me fenders from a 72 because he had a great deal on some...........after i told him i had a 68, then he couldn't understand when i told him no they wouldn't fit. some people just don't know i was just clarifying it for others.......

So what year is that truck in the pics?

:kidding:

I think it is really a stretch to be 'shocked' about this thread. Not too many people can tell the minor differences. I couldn't tell a 64 from a 72 until I bought the '67 and started researching them. Hell, I'm still learning sh*t about these trucks :D :D

ok well going by just the grill......unless he painted it, the 70 models, had the mesh inside the grill paint silver for "safety reasons" don't ask i read it in sport truck magazine, they had an issue out about 2 years ago that had a huse article on determining the differences between the years of 67-72.......so unless they were wrong about it, i would have to say it is a 70! jmho
