Hey all,
Haven't been on here for years.
My son has an x-cab 03' silverado dropped slightly (air-ride tech) I drove it and weird sound came out of the front end. I parked it and the next morning ,I couldn't get it to go in reverse. CV joint? I gotta fix this thing before he cgets back from a trip. yikes.

Does Tim (Hawaii) come on here still?

maybe you froze a hub assymbly. I know we get 2 or 4 chevys a week with bad hubs on the front. Maybe the bearing is shot or welded it self together. I would jack up the front tires and see if they spin freely then go from their. But one question, Does it go in reverse but not move? im just not clear at that point. or does the truck not engage in reverse at all.

Thanks guys...I crawled under. doesn't look like it's a ball or cv jt issue. It's 2wd...shifter goes into reverse but doesn't engage. Tranny is shot. reverse gear @ least. GREAT!

HEy what year and what size motor. Ive read alot of stuff on the trannys put behind the 4.3's go bad. Mine did and it had to be rebuilt. Mine wouln't shift enless I was off the throttle and well a week later wouln't go in reverse. its some little peice that went bad but I drove it to long and had to rebuild the whole tranny the shop said I drove it to long like that so it blew up. Hope u can get it fixed.
