do they sound similiar or is the 5.3 flow better. what bout with a one chamber and two chamber flow.

The exhausts are the same, no difference from 5.3 to 4.8 or vice versa...

I use to have dual 40 flowmaster on my truck. I needed somthing a littttttle louder. So i went with the single chambers. They flow better than the 40's. How much better??? I don't know, if you want it to be loud go with the single chambers.
