What do you all think?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Lance,
We can offer a price of $510.00 that would include UPS ground shipping to anywhere in the U.S. on a per kit basis. We currently have 4 units in stock. It would take approximately 1 week to get the balance. We supplied a Ford club earlier this year and their members called-in individually to place their orders by credit card.
Please let me know if this is something you want to pursue.
Sincerely,
Scott Radtke

Get the Xenarcs, I have them and love them. Projectors are a major :nono:, there is no aftermarket projector unit for our trucks that is any good, if tried most of them. Even with HIDs in them, they suck. The only way to do projectors would be to buy a set of aftermarkets, pull out their "fake" projectors and retrofit a set of Audi A6 (or other, A6s are the best retrofit short of S2000 units), projectors and install an HID system, total cost $700-1200.
Brandon, you HID pics look good :rocking: , that the same set I sold you?

I have an '01 Sierra and this is what I'm planning to do:
1) switching my stock headlamp assembly with the Denali projector assemblys
2)putting and HID conversion kit in those. www.misterjung.com has a kit that comes with 2 HID bulbs with the 9006 base and 2 Hella ballasts that are supposedly "plug and play" (Currently I don't know what color temp bulb to get, I'm confused on the whole "truest white light" term). Unless the bulbs that come with the kit are Sylvania or Phillips, I'm going to change them.
3)Install the thing that makes all 4 bulbs go on when in hi-beam mode b/c of the nature of the HID going from off to on (they kinda flicker and would look funny if you had to switch from hi's to low's, I dunno if you'd be without light for a second or two??)
Accoring to you, projector assemblys suck with the HIDs? I thought that the output and beam pattern of HIDs varies from headlamp assem. to headlamp assem. meaning that my HIDs will look different from some other guys HIDs. Thats why BMW, Acura, Mercedes, etc. HIDs look different even thought they use the same color temp bulb (4100k). I think the way I'm going to do my HID setup is the best and most economical, especially since I dont want to do any wiring and figuring out how to mount a set of Audi HIDs to my 9006 housing....
any thoughts or suggestions?
thanks in advance

Not exactly. REAL projectors (made by Hella, Valeo-who makes the Denali projectors) are the ideal housings for HIDS. I was referring to the ****ty aftermarket projectors for the Silverado made by APC, Crystal Eyes, etc.
Also, if you do go with the denali projectors I would get a 4100k kit, as the light is refracted in the projectors and the color should look awesome. And as far as the HI-4, or similar kits, its not neccessary. I have never experienced a second without light switching between Highs and lows, and vice versa. Also, you really won't need your highs very often. An HID bulb has to warm up and as a 4100K bulb warms, (about 5-10 seconds) the lights are very blue-purple, like a 6000k kit, so when switching from highs to lows, the HIDs will be the blue-purple color for a few seconds.
I'm not sure if you saw this SITE (http://www.intellexual.net/hid.htm) when I posted it on another tread, but in case you didn't, check it out. Also, go to the misconceptions section and it will explain the projector/reflector differences.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I did see that site posted in that thread. I replied to your post and had some concerns I guess you didn't read it otherwise you probably would've addressed my concerns

My concern with the reasoning on getting 4100k bulbs b/c they are the "truest white" (as I said I mentioned in the other thread) is with professional digital cameras and their color temp rating. In that other thread, I said that when using a digital video camera, you must "white balance" which means you're "telling" the camera what kind of light will be going into the lens. On the professional cameras Ive used, there's a 3200k filter(artificial light) and a 5600k filter(sunlight) So my question is, which is the truer 'white light'? 4100k or 5600k? That webpage also says that Phillips and Osram dont make a bulb higher than 6000k. Well, if 4100k is the truest white and the higher on the color temp you go, you lose brightness, why do they manufacture 6000K(which is in reality, a 5800k according to that website). Like I said on the other website, I may be comparing apples to oranges b/c the 2 things I'm talking about may have different color temp standards or whatever.
Phew...I think I'm getting way too into this, sorry, I'm just curious and want to do MY conversion they best way possible
