I just replaced my cousins projector beams with some factory replacement headlights. His were so dim you could hardly see on low beam at night. I brought them home with me to throw away. I looked at them to see why they were so dim. If you remove the low beam bulb & take a peek inside you will see why they are so dim. There is a piece of metal that is covering half the bulb, I guess for "looks".

If you will take a long screwdriver & pry on the piece of metal you can make it lay flat. I hooked it up & it actually puts out a respectable amount of light now. So I am planning on installing them in my ride, hopefully tomorrow b4 the super bowl.

I will let everyone know how they perform w/ this mod at night.

That metal plate is part of what aims the beam. It's standard projector beam equipment. When I had those Crystal Eyes, I took mine apart and modified that reflector using a mod I found on a BMW board. THEN I put brighter bulbs in there. Still worthless. I was glad to be rid of them. :(

I just got finished aiming my headlights. I took it out on the road. I will say that it has 100 percent more light than before. It is not as bright as a stock light on low beam but on high beams (with a high 4 wiring kit) it was as good as ever. I also have a chrome bumper w/ the foglights so with them on I don't have any trouble seeing. I cannot complain, because I needed some new factory lights for my other truck, so it saved me quite a bit of money.

That's cool. I HAD to drive with my foglights on when I had those things. I was thankful that I had the fogs. They're the only things that gave me any peripheral light.

I'm thinking of just getting a set of those diamond clear healights for the Yukon. Projectors aren't even an option now.

i have projectors on my 92 sierra and i love them compared to my stock lights, i have a 6 inch lift on it, and after i the lift the stock ones didnt give me much light right out infront of me with the dims. i like how the projectors have 3 rays of light coming out. i also have the 4 light kit for mine, and when the brights are on, no car in town has more light coming out. i dont have any fog lights either, and i personally have no problem with the low beams as far as visibility, it might all be because of the lift though, who knows, angle them down quite a bit too, washers on the top headlight mounts to angle the mount, angle the adjustments most of the way down. the hardest part was trying to get the headlights in square with the grill.

What brand are they?

im not real sure, i think they are altezzas. but here is an ebay auction of them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2406698713&category=6763
this is the same people i bought mine from, the reason i bought these was because of the way they look. i like the middle light, i have a little blue one in mine, but it keeps fading out so i have to replace it once in a while, not a big problem though. i dont think led's would light up that middle part very well because of no side light, but i havent tried it yet, i might try that next time.

Well, Altezza isn't a brand. It's the Japanese version of the Lexus IS300 and that's what people call euro clear taillights, but ok. They're just unknown brand. :)

They look a lot better than the Crystal Eyes I had. The projector lenses are larger diameter, which is a good sign. Do the projectors use the stock 9006 bulbs or are you stuck with dinky H3s?

I bet LEDs would work just fine in the city light. They work fine on the sidemarkers on my Yukon.

Figures. :( I wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole, because I'm sure they're H3s. I might consider a set of projectors if they used either 9006's or 9005's in the projector.

they only thing i dont like about them is the fact that they stick out of the grill. i havent gotten around to modifying anything to make them fit better yet. do the crystal eye headlights stick out like this? i also noticed that metal plate when i took them apart, i left mine in, thinking it was a reflector or something for the light, and thinking that the rould lense on the projector light would even out the light, but the low beams leave a defined line of light at a certain height, i love that, and everyone that rides with me is amazed by it, instead of there just being dim light everywhere. im not real sure what bulbs they use, but i will know soon. im gonna put some hyper whites or something like that in them. any suggestions?

I just new corner lenses, foglamps, and headlights..all APC. Everything on them looks great except for the headlights stick out like a 1/2" past everything else. They still look good, and you cant even notice it if you back off 5 feet.
Egerte it sounds like me and you have the same ones, i put in the different brackets and everything but they still stick out, if you figure out a way to push them back let me know.

I also got those euro xenon bulbs and they light up like crazy only thing is that the new lights arent adjusted and the light goes every where. When i fix them and put my new bowtie in ill take some pics

has anybody tried using a real HID bulb system in these projector lights? im thinking that it would work well because the light pattern with the stock 9006 bulbs is fine, with the straight top cut-off, but it just needs to be brighter..

So did your cousin ever see you with his projector headlights in your truck yet? He might think you conned em into scoring some free headlights.

How do you hook up the little blue light in middle? I see the white/black wires and do you use the factory dim lights? Thanks I hard wired them into the sidemarkers and they work great.

Is there any of the crystal clear H/L's anywhere for less than the $300 on that alteeza site?

Hell, just the plain diamond clear lights can be found all over the place for way less than $300. http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/Headlight_Conversion_Kits.html has the TYC diamond headlights for $150.

I love the projectors with the HID set in them , sure the first 30 - 50 meters you get a brilliant light and view ;
and when used with a conversion kit so when used the high beam the projectors still are on : it gives a view that brings light everywhere :D

Condensation : i never did got any problems with that .

Sorry for my limited explaination - english , i am from Belgium - Europe ...
