WARNING:FLAME SHIELD DISABLED! ;)
He should probably give the guys over at Camburg (http://www.camburg.com/1983-97Ranger) a call. They do alot of trick stuff for Rangers. Here is one they did. I see it all the time.

Does your boss have his heart set on a body lift? Does he already have a suspension lift on the truck? The 2wd Ranger has more lift options and methods than just about any other truck on the road.
A body lift would end up running the same amount of $$$ if he is going to have it installed. A basic 3" suspension lift on a 2wd Ranger would perform MUCH better than a 3" body lift. A Ranger body lift will run no more than $100 for all Rangers 1992 and older. The 1993 and up Ranger bodylift is about $150. The labor to install a body lift is pretty high because it takes time to do it. Most shops charge between $250-350 to install one. A simple 3" suspension lift would only be a few bucks more and would really work better off-road.
I've got nothing against body lifts... but on a 2wd Ranger it just makes more sense to go with a simple suspension lift.
