wondering if anyone has pics or ideas for making the old, old, dash style look good. I'm going to spend some time customizing the interior after I put in the new face. What have you all seen and liked? The only interior mod I have is new seats(Qualitex 3 seater in the front).

Checkout 1badgmc. His is quite "different"...in a good way!

I'd like to do some modding myself, like painting some of the interior pieces black. DUnno.

Here's what I did with my Blazer. Nothing crazy, I just put every piece of billet imaginable in there.:) Might give you some ideas of non-drastic stuff you can do...:D

What speakers do you have mounted in the doors there, and how do they sound? I'd like some better front speakers, but havnt put a whole lot of thought into it yet..

They were Lanzar 5 1/4" mid bass, but they didn't do much. All I did was cut the door panel and mounted them. Yeah you could hear them, but hardly any mid-bass because of how they were mounted. I would look into the Q-Form kick panel enclosures....I've heard those and they are pretty nice for the 88-94 dashs where the dash 4X6's are too small for mid bass...just my opinion...:)

either that or talk to tribal vision about the kicks he made, I might try something like that if I cant find some cheap kicks for my components.

Yeah, making them is a good option, I'd have to pick up some skills though to do it, I've never worked with that type of stuff before.

I have those seats Lifted96Chevy had in his Blazer... I can't decide if I like them or not. I really like what 1badgmc has done w/ his interior, the doors and stuff look really clean, dunno about the zebra stuff, but the leather looks good. I also like some of those billet touch ups, pretty sweet. The new system comes in soon, ordered through ikesound and crutchfield. I'll get to installing that whenever it gets here, then wheels, then the interior gets a total revamp. I'm not sure what exactly I wanna do to it, but I'm liking what I see in your trucks. I actually miss having that center console lol, even though the new seats have that secret compartment which is nice :smokin:

I wanna find something to put in the old radio hole, I have the cd rack thing, but something else would look better. Maybe a tranny temp gauge, eq, cb, billet cover w/ leds.... not sure.. I'm also gunna have to put up alot of pics and see what you all think would be a good colour for the interior to be painted... so many possibilities.

I gotta fix those qualitex drink holders some how, they just suck :(

Are those factory door panels? Or did you do some "customizing" to them?

Yes, aside from recovering them and painting them, no reshaping has been done to them.

Yeah, '88-'89 had slightly different door panels than the '90-'94 trucks. If you want the ones like mine with the pockets, they're from the Chevy Silverados and GMC SLEs, the upper level trimmed trucks.

Okay, I have two things to adress. First off, Lifted96chevy, what company did you get that billet kit from? I like those vents as opposed to leaving the regular vents sticking though a billet panel. And next, 1BadGmc, how did you go about painting the plastic in your interior? Did you use the same paint as on your body? Did you have to sand and prep it all the same? Did you do the upholstery work on your door panels? How hard was that to accomplish?

Most, if not all of my billet parts were from Empire Motorsports (http://www.empiremotorsports.com). Check them out! :D

I did all the smoothing myself and then took everything out to my bodyman and had him paint it for me.

Pretty much.

All I did was the upholstery on the dash. I took the seats and door panels to a shop.
