The ATAP arrived today!!!! But I don't have a laptop so I had to borrow my sister's. I was getting ready to set it up but then I find out that her comp only has USB ports and the ATAP cable needs a serial port. Do they make a USB to Serial port convertor?????

Man sorry I been down . I haven't been able to help you guys with the same crap I have had probs with.
Get a keyspan adapter, and I had to also disable my modem for both Atap, and Edit to work, especially Edit. I am anxious to see if you can read your PCM with Edit after ed got his hands init. If he did any tuning it will be "locked" this is done so we cannot see what settings he used, ultimately so they can't share info with anybody else. I see why, but it still pisses me off. I have never seen the guy give one piece of helpful info to anyone on the Edit mailing list. Ihave seen him in some pissing matches with the clowns that douse the list also. The Keyspan adapter is the only oine that I could get to work. Email me if you need anything dude. Sam

Finally found a computer that worked, but it's slow as hell. I borrowed my uncle's computer. It has an AMD 400 chip with windows XP. Took an hour just to load the program. The other problem is that it is set in German.

The light was on because I was getting missfires in #7 cylinder. I checked the plug and the wire and they look okay. I reset the light, but it lit up again, so I'm gonna try putting a new plug in there. Only problem is I went to AutoZone, PepBoys, and Kragen today and nobody carries NGK TR6's. I'm gonna try some smaller shops tomorrow.

If you know of any other reason why I could be getting misfires in #7 please let me know.

BTW, hows your back? You must be dying, looking at you SC just sitting there

I know what you mean about the computer. I had to buy one a few months ago just for this. I DO watch movies on it too, once in a while :) so not all is for Atap and Edit. Costco had a Toshiba 1105 for $800 last time I was at work. It is a 104? 256 Ram big screen, and DVD read. Simple, cheap, and works awesome!

I wonder WTF are getting mis fires for ?

It's not making any noise is it?

Have you searched at Tech for the misfire, or asked there?

My surgery went well! I am getting better, adn I am going to start puttign the accessories(pump, FMU, PCM re-locate, etc.) in a week or maybe two. Ihave my PCM file almost done, to get it back to stock after the superchimps messed me up. I have not actually loaded it up in the PCM yet! Talk about moment of truth!

I also went and bought soem galvanized "hardwar cloth" it is thick metal screen. I am going to make a surround cage for the intercooler once I get a really good idea of exactly where it is. I know if I don't protect it with something, it will get a hole popped in it. My windshield looks like a battlefield, so that gievs you an idea of the rocks flying around.

I forgot to tell you, I also ordered one of the those pre charger bags that K&N makes to put over the filter. It filters down to .05 microns so they say. We will see if it is too restricted or not. If so, I got it big enough to fit on a regular FIPK cone, so I may get a larger cone, and make a "colder" air kit.
I had an FIPK, and it let very fine dust thru it when I drove a long ways on soem VERY dusty roads that were glacial silt(very fine dust)

Bout it for now :-) Good luck with that #7. Sam

That's a good idea about protecting the intercooler. The way it sits, it is vulnerable to any road debris, especially if you do any offroading. I was thinking about building a ramair scoop to fit on it to force more air through.

I'm gonna try and get this #7 thing resolved tomorrow. Hopefully it's just the plug. I remember when I was installing the new plugs, I dropped one on the concrete, hopefully that's the problem.

Drop me a message if you need any advice about the install.

Thanks Bro :-)

Too bad I don't live there, Ihave two boxes of them. I bught two sets for reasons that you just said. I have broken so many damn plugs! If you can't fins them anywhere, let me know, and I will send some to you. I got them from Thunder Racing liek you did. I hope it's just your plug too.
The air thing is kinda touchy inmy opinion. I know that motor doesn't like hot air.
A cold air kit, however is getting you lots of nice cool air. If you don't have wideband, or at least Atap to measure L trims(long term fuel trims) you may be un knowingly leaning ou the air a little with the cold dense air. I am wondering if that's wjhy the kits is like that to "de-tune' a little so it has a less chance of leaning it out. ?? :-) kinda interesting to think about. My latest book is " Corvette Fuel Injection, and electronic engine management" by Charles Probst.
It was suggested by Ken Kelley, who wrote/writes LS1Edit. It is a very informative book for our engines. Very! especially those who use Edit.
Let me know what you find out dude. Sam
