View Full Version : HELP bagging my rear (dually) Outlawcrewcab 03-28-2003, 06:39 PM i want to bag the rear next Has anyone used the AIRBAR setup? will it still lay frame? i was told that they are junk and not worh the money. or would i be better taking it to a shop and having a 4 link built? Physh1 03-28-2003, 11:52 PM I've got it installed on mine. I don't know where you heard they were junk.....I love mine. I'm laying frame on it. When I had my step notch done the panhard bar was modded and mounted a little higher than it's stock intended location. Otherwise, it required no other mods to get it layed out. You can also build the notch and not have to have it stick through the bed....the only part that will NEED to be cut is above the pumkin area and panhard mount. I installed this airbar kit when I knew nothing at all about air systems and it installed very easily. No complications and came with solid instructions. I guess it would depend how custom you'd like to go on your suspension as far as chosing something.....a custom 4 link setup would be sweet.... Cameron Kid_Rock_GTX 03-29-2003, 12:52 AM as soon as my HD airbar kit comes in im going to install it and take millions of pictures. right now im just going to use the belltech notch so its a easy install later around mid summer im going to have billy from EMA (i think thats it lol) build me a notch so i can lay out without cutting the bed floor at all, well i lied im going to have to do something for the punkin and panhand bar cause those 14 bolts rear ends are big puppys! i just want my bed to be free for anything i put in it with no holes or major humps. im sorry i couldnt give u advice on how easy the stuff is to put it but let me tell u ART stuff is not junk if u havnt read all over FSC i love the front kit for the 1-tons and am very eager for the rear kit to come in! ill let u know how it goes Outlawcrewcab 03-29-2003, 07:16 PM Well it was at PA i heard this and told not to use it  Physh1 03-29-2003, 10:02 PM Originally posted by outlawcrewcab Well it was at PA i heard this and told not to use it  Why? What did they tell you about it? Cameron LowBlue02 03-30-2003, 02:44 AM Originally posted by 5-8CHEVY Whoever told you it was junk probably hangs around w/ a certain turd from ST( I wont mentions names, drastic1 knows who I mean). :read: :nono: They are a little pricey for my taste but if you have the coin and don't wanna worry about problems later go for it. :read: :rocking: *cough*Slammy*cough* Outlawcrewcab 03-30-2003, 07:04 PM Just said they were a wast of money and it wont lay frame just a bad design?? Physh1 03-30-2003, 08:05 PM Originally posted by outlawcrewcab Just said they were a wast of money and it wont lay frame just a bad design?? I can attes to that being %100 false. It's expensive but well designed and versatile IMO... Cameron wannabelower 03-31-2003, 12:22 AM Rather than pointing out the obvious absurdity of a reverse 4-link installing shop questioning art's design integrity; let me ask whose components is the gawdknowshowmuch$spent Chicayne running? And who does Boyd turn to when building his suspensions? tony@air ride 03-31-2003, 10:19 AM You forgot to add that we also have done the suspension on several concepts vehicles from Chevrolet, Ford , Dodge and Roush Industries. We have also worked with Disneyland, MGM, and HBO. It also goes without saying that you will only find our components on the nicest hot rods on the planet........ credentials aside........ Our AirBar HD's are deisigned around specifc vehicles. They are not generic and universal. They are deisgned so that you do not loose any of the original load carrying capabilities that you had with the truck in stock trim. They are also designed to give a 1/2 ton ride quality at about a 5/8 drop. Our kit out of the box is not designed to lay frame....... doing that negates the factory load carrying capabilities that I mentioned earlier. The guy that said they were junk probably only added "because they wont lay out" and tried to in turn sell you a reversed triangulated set up with a bar thickness that is intended for a mini truck. Tony.... 1badgmc 03-31-2003, 10:25 AM Originally posted by tony@air ride The guy that said they were junk probably only added "because they wont lay out" and tried to in turn sell you a reversed triangulated set up with a bar thickness that is intended for a mini truck. Tony.... That's exactly what I was thinking. Reminds me of my good friend, AfterMathSinner. I need to go back to static on my truck since I wasted money bagging it and didn't feel like cutting it up just to lay frame. :whyme: vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
