Every time I go to a show I always see tires that are shiney all over, tread and all. The shine is also more of a wet looking shine then tire shine, that and I wouldn't think driving with tire shine all over your tires would be too safe. Does anyone know what people use for this shine?

Most guys just coak there tires in Armorall or that blue stuff that the dealerships use. I always try and drive thru some grass or alittle dirt before I hit the road after a show to get some of that stuff off. It can be dangerous, ecspecially in the rain.

I use Meguiar's High Endurance gel on mine. I usually only mess with sidewalls unless I'm doing an indoor show, though.

I just use the Armorall too...it's cheap. :D I used to spray the tread for the judges...but I don't think they will be seeing alot of tread this year...cause it's all gonna tuck..hehe :D

I've been more than satisfied with the stuff. It has the right amount of shine. When I was driving my truck daily that stuff would still be nice and black after 2 months of driving.
I use Armor All too. I like driving w/ it on the treads......it makes my truck feel like it has 2000 h.p.;)   :D

What do ya'll use on the sidewalls, besides Armor All? I use Black Magic and Eagle One Tire wet. I've got a bottle of both but everything I've tried slings off on the wheels and the lower part of the fenders. It's a total biatch to get off paint, you have to buff it out. (every freaking time I wash my truck.) Maybe I'll try the Meguires.

It also doesn't seem to "sling" as much as some others.:read:

I use Black Magic in the spray can. I just spray my tire sponge and wipe it on. then at the shows, I just spray the visible tread. I use the quick detailer spray to get some of the slingy stuff off. with the Zaino, it wipes right off!! :)

I used some stuff once that I really liked called Tire Wax by Turtle Wax. I'll be damned if I can find that stuff anywhere now!!

I use the Black Magic in the spray bottle and apply it the same way, with a sidewall shaped sponge. I usually just buff out the marks with a towel or wet shammy, but I'm still going to try the Meguires :D My chrome wheels have been polished so many times it wipes right off them. I use NuFinish polish, it :rocking:

I have a buddy at the Lexus and Landrover dealership that fills my bottle up for me with the stuff that they use...
It's clear and smells like vanilla....
Gotta spray it on and wipe it off or it will sling everywhere...still leaves a showroom shine for weeks. I have used the Eagle one clear bottle and have been pleased with it too.

First show, congrats.. a few main things I bring to a local show would be a chair(I always forget mine), beverages(Beer,Water, ETC). cleaning stuff(naturally), Duct tape(cheap emergency vacuum)camera, etc.. cant think of anything else off hand.. If I do, I'll post it.

Different tires react differently to dressings. You just have to experiment with different dressings to find what works and looks best.

thanks for that advice, wouldn't have thought of the duct tape thats a good idea, I was wondering what to use. Definently bringing a cooler, stoping by Subway on the way, oh yeah, can't bring the beer though, it's a school district car show, lol, that wouldn't go over so well. Any other tips anyone has for the judges? Where should I leave all my cleaning stuff sitting, would they mark me down in the scoring for having everything sitting behind the seat?

I keep all my stuff in a Rubbermaid container. I pull it out of the truck when showing and either keep it by my chair, or slide it under the rear of the truck..

Under the truck sounds good. I'm gonna be walking around looking at other cars during the show so thats what ill prbably do. Don't know if i should put my cooler and cd's and everthing under there too. I probably should leave the truck unlocked during the show, right?
