I've had one sticker actually not stay on...and that was the only sticker that i've deviated from the normal way of doing it.

1. CLEAN THE WINDOW!
2. CLEAN THE WINDOW!
3. spray down the window with Windex (i've used something else ONCE and that sticker F'ed up.
4. position the sticker on the window with the window still covered in windex.
5. After sticker is where and how you want it: take a rubber scrapper (they'll be at any auto store located near the body filler stuff) and scrape out any and all air bubbles going from center out.
6. continue to use the rubber scraper to push out as much windex from under the sticker as possible.
7. Let dry on window...30 mins to 2 hours depending on the temp outside. i suggest not installing the sticker in the cold or use a heat gun.
8. Slowly remove sticker covering from one side. DO NOT start from each end.
9. dry out over night.

I wash my truck quite a bit...once...sometimes twice a week and have had no probs with mine. i have never had to rainXed over mine...and my truck has been thru hundreds of high pressure washes since i put the sticker on. If you put the sticker on the way i say...it should last a long time.

That is pretty much how I do it...

1. CLEAN THE WINDOW!
2. If you did it right, once is enough :D
3. Apply a mixture of soapy water to the window. This will allow you to move the decal into place and will evaporate nicely.
4. position the sticker on the window with the window.
5. After sticker is where and how you want it: take a rubber scrapper (they'll be at any auto store located near the body filler stuff) and scrape out any and all air bubbles going from center out. (Credit card works great and is usually handy)
6. continue to use the rubber scraper to push out as much soapy water from under the sticker as possible.
7. Let dry on window...30 mins to 2 hours depending on the temp outside. i suggest not installing the sticker in the cold or use a heat gun.
8. Slowly remove sticker covering from one side. DO NOT start from each end. Keep it close to the window/decal while removing, this helps to keep it taught and not pull the decal with it
9. Go watch the weeds grow out front of your house :D

i don't use soapy water because it tends to break down the adhesives that some sticker companies use:read:

i've read that windex also breaks down the adhesive, but if your decals are sticking thats cool.

another option, ¼ tsp of baby shampoo mixed with 1 quart of distilled water. its recommend for tint so i'm sure it would be safe with decals too

Depends on the size. You should allow yourself a chance to position a larger decal before you press it into place. I see too many :assclown: with banner decals that are crooked  :D

These days, the words "sticker" and "decal" are used almost interchangeably, but they are not the same. My understanding is a real decal has no adhesive, whereas the familiar sticker has adhesive on the back of it.
Are you using this procedure for stickers or decals or both?

Also do these steps apply to pressure sensitive decals as well?
