03 Tahoe Console...Escalade too expensive..Part #'s and ?'s

I'm really getting tired of looking at the patheticaly plastic piece of a console that came in my tahoe. I've been searching the internet/junk yards for over a year to try to get my hands on an escalade console...this aint happenin for under a grand or so... stealership wants 3500..haha...soo..im thinkin get an 03 console and then get the lid professinaly stiched up and covered in leather. does anyone have the part number for this thing. The console and the piece that flows to the dash...and i assume I'll need a new glove box surround thing as well. thanks for all yalls help...

its taller, nicer looking IMO, cooler lid, and flows up to the dash

I dont think the 03 Escalade/Denali consoles are gonna fit into a pre 03 truck without some work. the lower dash lines look different.:think:

anything will fit..........if your not scared to modify. Chop it, hack it, then upulster it. Damn, do you just have days you know how to spell something but cant remember. Then when you see it your like "I know that". Its one of those days.

not scared of modifyin...obviously..hehe...but the lower dash line is different..that is why you need the glove box surround as well.. this makes the lines all flow right..see what im sayin?..anyways..anyone got part #'s for this thing..aprox prices etc?

For the price a console and apolstry would be, you could a custom made console. Talk to wkdspd, he'll be able to hook you up.:D

i already have a pretty custom console..well..the top part of it..molded in the control remote for my equalizer/crossover...but i was hopin somethin a little more luxury...If i wanted to have a from scratch console....id probably do it myself...but ill give wkspd a holler and see what he can do...i really just ike the design of the 03 console better...part #'s anyone?

I put the 03 console in my 2000. I had to cut a bit but it looks good so far still gotta do alittle work to clean it up.

2000lowsierra...did you get a different glove box surround that flows up to the dash or did you just cut out where your cigarrette lighters were...also...how much did you pay for this...where did you get it...part #'s?...thanks man

I did the Denali center console in my Silverado and it was a definite difficult job. Not impossible, but you have to replace a few pieces.
Turned out pretty damn good. Still have to hook up the rear heated seat buttons on the back of the console, but I love it.

That looks awesome Jp but who wants to spens more than 2000 on just a center console? I mean dont get me wrong it looks really nice... but for that much I could get myself a nice 6.0 and drop it in... or some 20's etc etc ...

I think the point of this post was to get more info on the 03 console to see if its cheaper than doin the esca conversion

yeah..the nali console is badass...but...i would be ripping up the top section to put my control module for equalizer/crossover and a buncha switches...i just cant see spending over a grand on a console...especially over 2 grand...haha...but to each his own... im curious about the 03 console...might have to stop by the stealership after class and see how much they want for one...probably 3 grand like the escalade..haha

thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it! yea, Ive built a FEW, hehe... few million it feels like.:crazy: we tried the denali swap into a 98 a few months ago, and although it turned out pretty well I think, it was more expensive than a full custom would have been, and almost as much work. as for consoles in the 2k range, Ive done 3 or 4, both with full motorized compartments and plenty of trick upholstery (read: alligator and ostrich :read: ). hey 91, yours will be done this week (I was hoping for yesterday, hehe) and Ill get you the pics immediately. anybody else, any questions, lemme know! and no, I dont have most of my pics on the web yet, just a few under the "staff" section of my site, hopefully more soon if I can get my webmaster up and runnning, hehe...:D )

I definitely didn't pay 3K for the console upgrade, but it did cost a little (I have a few connections).
For the amount of work involved to hook everything up (trip computer, changer, lights, rear audio controls & rear heated seats), I would suggest going with a full custom console.

Don't get me wrong, I love it and it really made the interior, but now that I've had it for a few months, I don't think it's worth $3000. Perhaps $750 (with all electronics), but not much more than that.

I still have the lid to recover and hook up the rear heated seats, then I'll be done............with the center console. :D

I'm now thinking about changing all the Denali wood to a different wood. We'll see if it happens or not.

Sorry haven't been around the comp in a few days. The glove box surround I just cut from the 12v plugs over and to past the ash tray and then just tried to make it smooth. and then I had to cut some of the peice under the steering wheel too. Wasn't too difficult but still a challenge. I used a pretty blunt hand saw and a box knife to do it. So don't tell me you ain't got the tools. :head:

EDIT: Oh ya I only spent 50 bucks on mine. :rocking:

There is a local place here in Oklahoma called Del City Pickup (not really a junkyard but they get stuff outta like work trucks or when people wanna trade stuff or just sell stuff they get it). The console I got was from an '03 not brand new but taken outta a truck (they had like 9 of em) Just a few scuff marks but I am gonna paint it anway so it doesn't matter. I gave them my middle seat and they gave me 50 bucks for it and then the console was 100 so it ended up being 50 bucks. I will try and get some pics up tommorow.
